1970’s Vintage Araya 27” x 1¼” Alloy Road Clincher Wheelset with Shimano Hubs Up for sale is a nice mid 1977 vintage set of ARAYA 27” alloy road clincher wheels. ARAYA single wall alloy rims with clear anodized finish measure 24.9mm wide (19.3mm internal) x 12.7mm deep , (applying the Sheldon Brown general guideline that the tire width should be between 1.45 and 2.00 the inner rim width would mean these rims are suitable to tires of between 28mm and 38mm in width). Shimano low-flanged alloy road hubs have been cleaned and grease with good cones and bearings – ready for years of service . Wheels have been professionally trued with clean braking surfaces. A few marks, signs of normal use, and a bit of oxidation staining on the spokes, please see pictures. Sale includes quick release skewers .
